- “ I have been coming to Depasquale for several years now. I've never been loyal to any one stylist here (mostly because I tend to schedule appts with short notice), but I have always always come out with a great cut, whatever level the stylist may be.
It is a bit on the pricey side for me, even at the lowest level stylist. But I've gone to cheaper places in NYC and elsewhere and just never came out with the same confidence that I have coming out of Depasquale. This is considering that I have Asian hair - not the thin stick straight easy-to-manage kind, but the thicker with random waves, always-needs-to-be-blown-out version that I used to have a harder time getting a good cut. Now, I have a salon that I can absolutely rely on. I further justify the cost to myself because I feel like my styles last longer with Depasquale and I can wait longer between cuts.
And it never hurts that they are always very polite and professional on the phone and in person, and you can get free cappuccino, fruit, and/or sandwiches before/during/after your service. The atmosphere is really wonderful - really big, clean, and decorated well.
This week, I went for a cut with Sr Stylist Ariel, who was really great! She listened to what I was looking for, kept a light conversation (just enough to keep me occupied but not constant so I knew she was still paying attention to the actual cut), and gave me honest advice on hair treatments I was thinking of for the near future to repair any damage from an earlier perm (telling me she recommended a $20 hot oil treatment rather than the much more expensive treatment I was thinking of).
I definitely recommend coming here! I know it's a splurge, but sometimes, it really is just worth it.
